nginx_request not working in centos 5.5

I am having problems with getting nginx_request plugin to work in centos 5.5. The problem seems to be the regex pattern used as if I run munin-run nginx_request it will always print request.value U. I've tried to find the correct pattern but it's not working so I'm submitting a ticket so someone has a better idea. The plugin is from the trunk plugins directory.
